Fall Chautauqua

Developers and Municipalities: Getting Suburban Projects Up and Running

Wednesday, October 22, 2014

3:30 p.m. - Registration

4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Presentations and Table Discussions

6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Social Hour

The Chautauqua will first take a deep dive into a suburban project that worked, specifically the development of a Chrysler dealership along the 159th Street corridor in Tinley Park. Our moderator, Ranadip Bose of SB Friedman Development Advisors, will join Amy Connolly, Tinley Park’s Planning Director, Sandy Mung of Chrysler Realty and Greg Hannon, a Village trustee, in discussing what incentives and obligations the parties ultimately agreed on, what hurdles were overcome, and how the project participants worked through challenges and negotiations to cross the finish line.

Representatives from Barrington, Midlothian, Park Forest and Villa Park will then join Tinley Park and lead table discussions about a project in their community that they would love to energize. We will review their current project challenges, hear the perspectives of developers at the tables, and brainstorm ways to move the projects forward.
