Walking Tour of Old Cook County Stroger Hospital Redevelopment Project

Join us for a walking tour of the revitalization project at the old John H. Stroger Cook County Hospital. Along with your LAI friends, we’ll take a guided tour of a variety of project work then finish up with a happy hour social. If you can’t make the walking tour, we invite you to join us for drinks at Park Tavern.


2:30 p.m.

2:45 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Program starts with introductions & project overview.
  • Discuss parties involved and nature of master planning.

Tour speakers include Larry Brozek, Cook County, and other members of the Cook County project staff, along with LAI Ely Chapter Members and Project Participants Tim Brangle, The Chicago Consultant Studio, Inc., and Christine Carlyle, Solomon Cordwell Buenz.

Tour includes walking the surrounding blocks (1-2 block radius only) to discuss other phases and development plans and potential.

5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Happy Hour and Appetizers at Park Tavern. Registration includes 2 drinks and appetizers.

Tour Guide:

Jessica A. Caffrey is the Director of Real Estate Management for Cook County Government, the nation’s second largest county with more than 230 unique properties in approximately 19 mm square feet of real estate.  As Director of Real Estate, she has led the visionary redevelopment plan for the Health and Hospitals Systems’ Central Campus.  This redevelopment will enhance services at our nation’s largest public health system, restore the Old Cook County Hospital building, create a vibrant-mixed use community and revitalize the West Side neighborhood.  Jessica also works to ensure that elected officials and other departments within Cook County have the appropriate facilities to efficiently provide public services and carry out the various operations of County government.
