11th Street Central Request for Proposal

The 11th Street Central Request for Proposal (RFP) offers an unprecedented opportunity for Developers to create and implement a mixed-use, multi-modal hub for Michigan City’s downtown and for all of Lake Michigan’s South Shore.

The City of Michigan City is able to offer private developers an opportunity to create a dynamic multi-use project, with active first floor uses, a new 11th Street Station for the South Shore Line (SSL) incorporating the restoration of the station’s original historic façade, and parking to serve both the project uses and 436 spaces dedicated for the SSL commuters. The 65,300 SF project site is the full City block bounded by Franklin, 10th, Pine, and 11th Streets. Michigan City seeks proposals equaling the City’s commitment to a high-quality built environment, and, to that end, the RFP includes development guidelines identifying the potential scale and mix of uses in the project. Click here for details and to download the RFP documents.
